Kiefer BARRETT
CEO
Kiefer is an accomplished entrepreneur with a pioneering role in the beverage industry, co-founding Pauldan Beverages and launching Shift Party Primer, one of the first hard seltzers introduced in 2011. His engineering background from the University of Miami has played a pivotal role in his ventures, notably in advanced manufacturing with BSF Manufacturing and Barrheim Industries, where he leveraged technologies like multi-axis CNC machines and 3D printers. As the leader of Kief-Pak, he specializes in GMP-certified supplement production, skillfully blending technical innovation with strategic market insights to dominate multiple industry sectors.
W. Brian Barrett

Dr. Barrett is Associate Professor of Finance. He served as department chair from 2020 through 2022. He is also Co-Director of the Bermont-Carlin Scholars Program at the University of Miami’s Herbert Business School as well as the Student Managed Investment Fund. He is a specialist in bond markets, financial futures, portfolio management, and interest rate models. His research articles have appeared in The Journal of Finance, The Financial Review, The Journal of Banking and Finance, The Journal of Financial Research, The Journal of Fixed Income, and The Financial Analysts Journal. In addition to his teaching and research, Dr. Barrett has been a consultant to investment management firms and has also served as a Board Member for financial institutions. His service to the profession includes serving as the VP for Local Arrangements, Program Chair, and President of the Southern Finance Association and more recently as the Program Chair, President, Director and Trustee for the Eastern Finance Association. Dr. Barrett holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and Master of Science in Industrial Management and a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
